- A- Storing Photovoltaic Energy: Solar panels cannot produce power at night time or all through cloudy periods. But rechargeable batteries can store electricity: the photovoltaic panels charge the battery during all through the day, and this power can be drawn upon in the evening.
- B- Storing Thermal Energy: Residential solar hot water systems - which use the sun's thermal energy to heat water for the home - have a simpler storage system. Water flows through solar collectors on the roof, and then goes to a storage tank where it can be drawn upon as needed.
Opex Projects & Financing
This model is also known as Build Own Operate Transfer (BOOT) model or Zero Investment Solar Model.
- In opex model, we take care of the investment required for the solar power plant and hence, we own the asset (Plant).
- Lumira Powers is also responsible for Design, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Monitoring, and Maintenance of the solar power plant.
- We and our client agree on a PPA (power purchase agreement) for a decided duration of time, which is typically 15-25 years and according to the tenure, the tariffs varies.
- The client is billed every month on the basis of actual energy generated by the solar plant.
- After the PPA terminates, the asset is transferred to the consumer.
